To that end, the Disney Wish offers vegetarian and vegan options at every meal, including in the dining rooms and grab-and-go spots, and pays close attention to any allergies or restrictions. For example, one of my friends is vegan, and Melissa, the lead of our dining team, made sure to point out the dishes my friend could enjoy for dinner. I’d hazard a guess that DCL diehards will quickly learn this, and congregate in the “hidden gems” once they check off some of the one-and-done themed settings. Conversely, first timers will flock to the popular but underwhelming spaces. In several ways, it feels like the guiding light behind this project was bringing as much of the contemporary Disney theme park experience as possible to a cruise ship.
A Busy Morning Onboard Disney Wish
Below we list each of the main meal periods onboard the ship, and your best options for each. New Orleans-inspired cocktails and refreshments are served up in this informal lounge inspired by the magical marsh Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. Among the magnolia blossoms and twinkling fireflies, you’ll find live musical performances and other events. Our reviewers noted that while the Hyperspace Lounge was impressive, you might not feel like you have to go back every night… many travelers will probably enjoy it as more of a one-off experience once on their cruise.
Disney Wish Vs. Disney Cruise Line’s Other Ships

All of these have views of the Funnel Vision so if Mickey’s Pool is too crowded, no worries, you have other options. Plus you can also make your way to Donald’s Pool or Goofy’s Pool, both on deck 12. Being located next to Vibe, it can be opened as a teen club or even cut off for tween-only activities. On the daily itinerary, there was always something going on at The Hideaway, so much so that it made me interested in stopping by to join in on the fun. Throughout your trip, you will have ample opportunities to meet characters in various locations around the ship, and most are available more than once a day. Your Disney Navigator App tells you each day who will be available where and when.
Pirates Rockin’ Parlay Party and Fireworks at Sea
The Rocking Parlay Pirate Party was a huge miss for us though. It really seemed to play to a certain demographic, and well I don’t think we are in that demographic. We were happy to see that Captain Jack Sparrow still showed up, but I think we all agreed that we all prefer previous pirate night shows. Pirate Night on the Disney Wish was very similar to other Pirate Nights we’ve experienced.

The Bayou is a gorgeous space, but with its open-air constructs, it can get pretty noisy if there’s a lot going on, or if people start lining up for the evening show. And even though we loved Hyperspace Lounge, it can get pretty loud in there! Currents, which is a bar that can be found on all of the Disney Ships, looks directly over the Toy Story Splash Area which we found to be an odd choice. During our four-night cruise, we had two days at the port with the opportunity to disembark if we wished, and one full day at sea. Before sailing, we had planned to disembark in both Nassau in the Bahamas and Disney’s Castaway Cay.
Sip a cocktail in an elegant setting, replete with antique mirrors and floating rose petals. This elegant, adult-exclusive lounge is reminiscent of the enchanted castle from Beauty and the Beast, and is the perfect prelude or postscript to a sophisticated meal at Enchanté or Palo Steakhouse. The drinkware itself even adds to the theme of this lounge, which is inspired by Cinderella’s rendition of “Sing Sweet Nightingale” from the 1950 Disney classic movie. They felt the menu was perfectly fine, but conceded that nothing they ordered reached “must do again” status. Our group also dined at 1923 once for breakfast (as an alternative to Marceline Market) and was pleased with the offerings during that meal period.
Fun, But Not the Best Disney Ship
The adults-only restaurants, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté, are an elegant dining experience, where more sophisticated dress is required. Formal attire is not necessary, but dress pants and collared shirts are expected. The main pool deck has a complimentary food court offering everything from burritos to pizza to barbecue to soft-serve ice cream.
To keep things as comfortable and immersive as possible, the direction you fly on the screens is indeed the same direction the cruise ship is heading, giving the experience an even more realistic feel. The Imagineers worked closely with Lucasfilm to unlock the entire library of ships. Every ship that whizzes by has a name, a story and a place in the greater "Star Wars" universe. You can expect to take that jump through hyperspace to a different part of the galaxy every seven minutes or so.
After that, it becomes kids only, and boy did my almost 5-year-old boys love the idea of having their independence. They would gleam with pride about how they were able to explore and play, without their parents in tow. Because if I’m spending my money and taking my PTO, there has to be something in it for me. So let’s get into my honest review of the enchanting Disney Wish Cruise Line. As my twin boys started approaching 5, they began to ask to go to Disney World, as well as to go on “a big boat”, aka a cruise. Well, despite my travels to almost 40 countries, I have never been to Disney, and I have only been on one cruise.

At the entrance of the slide are crew members checking kids in via their wristbands, while additional crew members are at the bottom of the slide ensuring everyone properly washes their hands. What is probably most valuable to travel agents is that all family members can have their own independent experiences, and then still come back together for those special immersive experiences, Bainter says. Even following a pandemic, wishes do still come true, and we have Disney Cruise Line (DCL) to thank for delivering its unmistakable brand — and fleet — of magic, wonder, dreams and fantasy to cruisers around the world. Both my boys wore this Disney Cruise themed shirt multiple times. While the fitness center is adults-only, kids can exercise at Hero Zone, Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever full-size indoor gym.
There are loungers on deck 5, but we only saw 3 in total, again bringing us to ask why. All of that being said though, at least deck 4 still has the beloved shuffleboard games. Not only is it more confusing, but there are a lot of spaces that just kind of don’t make sense. I’m sure they make sense to someone, but to the average cruiser, it just feels weird. Sadly, we heard lots of complaining during this cruise and a lot of it had to do with the layout and certain spaces on the ship.
While this holds true on all the Disney ships, my 6-year-old never wanted to leave the kids club on Disney Wish. On the upper deck, you'll discover a number of poolside options, including Mickey's Smokestack Barbecue, Donald's Cantina, Daisy's Pizza Pies, Goofy's Grill and Sweet Minnie's Ice Cream. Disney Wish retains the rotational dining format but with a lineup of all-new dining experiences. I'm not sure the experience was so different than AquaDuck to label it a full-on attraction like you'd find in the theme parks, but it is certainly a waterslide worth checking out. As a child of the 1980s who lived and breathed all things "Star Wars" growing up, I had a blast enjoying a few otherworldly drinks from this gold-laden lounge with views of the universe beyond.
On Deck three, you’ll find The Bayou, which serves coffee until around noon. Inside of Marceline Market, you’ll find Marceline Cafe, which serves specialty coffees and alcohol. The Lookout offers coffee drinks in the Festival of Foods lineup on deck 11, and is also a bar. And Cove Cafe is on deck 13, and is set up like other Cove Cafes on the other Disney Cruise ships.
If you have four people, as we did, it may be cheaper and more convenient to take a private shuttle service, especially if your entire party can’t fit into a single ride-share service vehicle. We flew into Orlando on a pretty good flight deal from our hometown, New Orleans. We initially were going to rent a car so we could explore Orlando and park at Port Canaveral. There is the option to either park at the Port Canaveral cruise terminal for $17 per day or use off-site parking options for about half the price. I’m shocked to say it, but the Disney Wish Cruise exceeded my expectations!
Home to the Star Wars Galactic Creature Keepers adventure, kids here will become intergalactic creature handlers, feeding lifelike, interactive creatures and encountering some of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy. Don’t worry, though — with the help of Rey and Chewbacca (and the Force), everything will turn out just fine. Children become young Avengers, training alongside their favorite Marvel Super Heroes.
However, we proceeded to sit on the bus for the next hour along with some other unhappy guests. Exiting our stateroom, we were able to score an empty elevator down to the Grand Hall without any issues. It then took about 30 minutes to go from scanning off the ship, through CBP, and loaded onto a bus. Not to mention, there are cabanas available to rent, plenty of bars to quench your thirst, shops, and two BBQ lunch spots. The island lunch is complimentary and includes grill items like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, and ribs, along with sides and desserts.
